Title: Familiarity
Author: [personal profile] rainjoyswriting
Characters: Kurt/Blaine, Santana
Length: ??? (mid-length oneshot)
Summary: "Seriously, don't mind me, you two keep going. But do you think you could lose the shirts?"

I discovered [profile] rainjoyous through her fantastic FMA fic (millions upon millions of words of the best Roy/Ed, do you know how happy I was), and she quickly became one of the few authors I bother to track. Sometime later she started writing Kurt/Blaine and EEEEEEEE I don't even have feelings~ about Kurt/Blaine but her Kurt/Blaine is so perfect that I am in love.

Really, thought, it's Santana who steals the show, which is how it should be. She's just. Her perspective and BEING FRIENDS WITH KURT, okay, how is this not the best.

Oh oh oh and while Santana's POV is used to great effect in illustrating the adorableness of Kurt/Blaine, this is her story. Santana is no mere plot device.

Title: We're Both Looking for Something
Author: smc-27
Pairing: Puck/Rachel
Length: 61,000 words
Summary: Puck and Rachel, a series of firsts. Sophomore year, junior year, senior year and beyond.

I'm recommending the heck out of smc-27's stories, but her Puck and Rachel are just that fantastic. This has more of an ensemble feel than "The City," with sides of Finn/Rachel and Quinn/Puck, but the focus is on Puck and Rachel and their friendship. There's something endearing and sweet about the characters' relationship - and something hot about the intimate scenes, which are steamy without ever being graphic and (rare for me!) not something I scrolled past to get to the more character-driven bits.

Title: The City
Author: smc-27
Pairing: Puck/Rachel
Length: 66,000 words
Summary: Somewhere between coffee at Dean and Deluca and riding the Staten Island Ferry just for fun, he starts to think that it actually makes a lot of sense for the two of them to end up going rogue the week after graduation.

There's something I absolutely love about the friends-turned-lovers storyline, and this story builds that relationship between Puck and Rachel so, so beautifully. I think the word I'm going for is enthralling, because I read straight through without even stopping to check my flist. Writing Puck as an NYPD officer seemed like a strange choice at first, but by the end the job seemed so fitting and now I'm going to have difficulty imagining him in any other future career. There isn't much of a focus on the other glee kids, just a few cameos and a handful of appearances by Finn, and while I normally prefer my shipper fics with an ensemble backdrop, there's something perfect about Puck and Rachel creating this completely new life.

(Also, this is one of those stories where I'd KILL for a sequel - not at all because the story doesn't stand on its own, but because I want to spend more time in the author's universe with her version of the characters.)
